The story of the youngest child who sold pins against corruption in Alexandria
Tuesday 11. March 2008 04:11

The story of the youngest child who sold pins against corruption in Alexandria The story takes place in Alexandria and the character is Grandma Karima Abdul Jaabar. Karima asked for 1000 pins against corruption and decided to be part of the one million pin against corruption campaign, starting with her own grandchildren who created the most wonderful story. It started like this; one day, Karima narrated to her grandchildren the origin of the story. She told them that whoever does good earns a pin and we will only ask for one pound. Once we have collected all the money, we will give it to the other good people who are in real need.

It started like this; one day, Karima narrated to her grandchildren the origin of the story. She told them that whoever does good earns a pin and we will only ask for one pound. Once we have collected all the money, we will give it to the other good people who are in real need. The real story began when Yehia wore his pin on his school pinafore and narrated the same story to his friends. Yehia returned home and asked for 10 pins for his friends who wanted to be part of the story. In return, Yehia got an apple from his grandma for being able to explain the story to his friends and Yehia became the hero of the story. Mrs.Karima tells us how she was able to sell the pins against corruption in Alexandria. She started off by explaining the campaign to her children and in a simpler manner to her 5 grandchildren who then accompanied her on their first practical lesson at Semooha club. There, one of the grandchildren took the lead to sell the pins and began explaining to the people the story behind it and that they are selling it to the good people who want the best for their country. The response was overwhelming and they managed to sell the 1000 pins. Yehia is named after his grandfather, Yehia Al Riffai, the godfather of the judges' reformers and is the grandson of Chancellor Ahmed Mekki, Vice President of the court of cassation
